BAKERSFIELD SPEEDWAY RELEASES 2010 SCHEDULE
(DECEMBER 18, 2009, BAKERSFIELD, CA) Bakersfield Speedway promoter Scott Schweitzer released the 2010 Bakersfield Speedway event schedule on Friday afternoon. The much anticipated 2010 season, which features 33 race dates, will get under way on Saturday, March 6th with four action packed divisions that night and it will conclude nearly eight month later after the 25th Annual Budweiser Nationals.
The popular IMCA Modifieds headline the 2010 schedule with 17 points season dates. Other Bakersfield Speedway house division including Hobby, American and Mini Stocks will also see lots of action in 2010. Also returning in the 2010 season, The West Coast Late Models and Sprints have been stepped up from in the past with 6 and 4 dates respectfully. In addition, the USAC Midgets, USAC Focus Midgets, USAC JR Focus Midgets, West Coast Street Stock, Mini Dwarfs, NMRA ¾ Midgets, CDCRA Dwarf Cars and the California Lightning Sprint Cars will also join the 2010 Bakersfield Speedway season.
Schweitzer is pleased with the schedule and is excited about some new things happening this year as well. “I’m very happy with the schedule for 2010. It’s a hard thing to put together and to do it with as little conflict with other race tracks. This year I was fortunate to be able to work with other track owners to make sure we didn’t over stack races on top of one another. Santa Maria, Perris, Kings, Tulare and Victorville speedways all worked with us this year and that will benefit everyone not just Bakersfield” stated Schweitzer. “We have also added some new stuff in the grandstand for the fans during the night. It has become more than just dirt track racing that we have to offer every Saturday night. We want to offer fun family entertainment that keeps them coming back for more.”
