Pounds tops IMCA Modifieds again at Bakersfield Speedway

Brad Pounds raced to his second IMCA Modified victory of the year Saturday night at Bakersfield Speedway.

Pounds, who started sixth, took the lead 10 laps into the 30-lap feature and finished 1.2 seconds ahead of Robby Sawyer on the third-mile clay oval.

Pounds joins Ethan Dotson as the second repeat winner this season.

 

Dotson was third, followed by Bret Bennett and Rob Sanders.

Defending series champion Jerry Flippo won the 20-lap Mod Lite feature for his first win of the season.

Flippo took the lead five laps into the 20-lap race and was a second ahead of Kaden Cochrun at the finish. Anthony Balcazar was third.

Mike Hill Jr. took the lead at the green flag and led the rest of the way to win the 20-lap IMCA Modified.

Hill is the third different winner through the first three races.

 

Devan Jones finished two-tenths of a second behind for his third straight runner-up finish. Troy Patee was third.

Multi-time series champion Bobby Michnowicz raced to victory in the 20-lap Californian Lightning Sprint feature.

Chuck West drove to victory in the 20-lap NMRA Three-Quarter Midget feature. Scott Dobson finished second with Chris Thomas thir
