Ryan Reed’s Drive to Stop Diabetes Night this Saturday

Ryan Reed’s Drive to Stop Diabetes Night this Saturday

Bakersfield Speedway, the 1/3 Mile High Banked Clay Oval, will host Drive Night at the Races Saturday, July 11, 2015.  Bakersfield Speedway will donate $2.00 from each adult and $1.00 from each child ticket to the Drive to Stop DiabetesSM campaign with the American Diabetes Association. NASCAR XFINITY driver Ryan Reed’s merchandise will be raffled off.  He will be delivering a special message to the crowd all the way from his race in Kentucky.

NASCAR XFINITY Driver Ryan Reed’s collaboration with the American Diabetes Association for the Drive to Stop DiabetesSM awareness campaign was started in 2013 to bring awareness and education to the disease.  Reed, who has been racing since the age of four, was diagnosed at the age of 17 with type 1 diabetes and was told that he would never be able to race again. This was not acceptable for the young man who has become an advocate for diabetes awareness and started his own foundation, Ryan’s Mission, to educate people about the disease.

Late Models, SportMods, Hobby Stocks, American Stocks and Mini Stocks will all be in action this Saturday night. Gates open at 4:00pm with racing action getting underway at 6:00pm sharp. Bakersfield Speedway is located at 5001 N Chester Ext Bakersfield, CA. 93308. For complete race info 661-373-3373
