FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS AT BAKERSFIELD SPEEDWAY THIS FRIDAY NIGHT MAY 30TH

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (May 27, 2025) – Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway once again hosts a Friday night bill of dirt track excitement on May 30th. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Stock Cars, American Stocks, and So-Cal Dwarf Cars will take to the one-third mile dirt track at Enos LN & I-5 in Bakersfield. Photo by Tom Macht

All kids and students 18 and under are admitted for free, with High School students encouraged to bring their student ID. . Adult general admission tickets are $18 and Parking is free of charge. Grandstands open at 4pm with opening ceremonies and heat races at 6pm. The full slate of main events begins at approx. 8pm. Tickets will also be available at the gate.

Bakersfield Speedway racers left their mark on the Central California IMCA Clash last weekend, with Bakersfield pilots winning 13 out of the 16 features and three out of the four championships. Bakersfield’s Dylan Wilson won twice to claim the IMCA Sport Mod clash championship honors. Chad Johnson and Ricky Childress, Jr. each scored two wins a piece in the Hobby Stocks, with Johnson prevailing for the title. Nicholas Johnson swept the IMCA Stock Car competition, winning all four races at Bakersfield, Santa Maria, Merced, and Petaluma.

The best dirt racers in the west continue their Bakersfield Speedway championship battles in Friday’s action. 2024 Bakersfield Speedway champion Gavyn Manning leads the IMCA Modified standings while Tate Loftis is the top dog in the IMCA Sport Modified division. Raymond Noland of Porterville enjoys a scant two-point lead over Chowchilla’s Austin VanHoff in the IMCA Stock Cars. Carson Conway leads the American Stocks by six markers over Kyle Wood.

So-Cal Dwarf Cars make their third Bakersfield Speedway appearance on Friday night. San Diego’s Darren Brown and Bakersfield’s J.D. Brown (no relation) have split the two features this season.

H&S Body Works Hobby Stocks are dark this weekend but return on June 7th during the Ultimate Sprint Car Series Salute to Bob Vermeer and Narcie Ferreira.

The adjacent Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway hosts the “Battle of the Harvicks” between NASCAR champion Kevin and his son Keelan on Saturday May 31st as well to wrap up a big weekend of motorsports in Kern County.
