New pit gate hours start this weekend

                      To keep in line with the new summer hour implemented last weekend, Speedway management has adjusted the pit gate entry time as well. Starting this Saturday night August, the pit gate will now open at 3:00pm. Pill draw will close at 5:30pm, drivers meeting 5:35pm and hot lapping to following the drivers meeting. We will stay on this schedule until the remainder of the points season.

Johnson races to eight win at Speedway

                        There appears to be no stopping Steven Johnson at Bakersfield Speedway. The IMCA Stock 20-lap main event featured tight racing for the first seven laps, then Johnson pulled away to his eighth straight win. “I have no idea,” Johnson said of what made his car so fast. “J.R. Speedway announces new summer hours

                        Bakersfield Speedway announces that new summer hours will be in place through the end of the regular points season. As of this Saturday July 30th, spectator gates will open at 5:00pm and racing will get underway at 7:00pm sharp. Speedway management has made this adjustment in an effort to help with the summer heat for racers and spectators that attend events during “Hot August Night’s”. Sawyer adds to IMCA win total at Bakersfield Speedway

                        There’s a reason Robby Sawyer has the most wins of any IMCA Modified driver at Bakersfield Speedway this year. In two simple words, he’s fast. Sawyer dominated the division’s 25-lap feature on Saturday night, leading from start to finish on the third-mile clay oval to earn his third win of 2016.
