Whitwell get first main event win

Whitwell won his first Bakersfield Speedway main event Saturday night when he held off points leader Kyle Heckman for the 25-lap IMCA Modified race.   “It was a great race. Awesome fast,” said Whitwell, who moved to Bakersfield late last season from the East Coast.   Whitwell was able to grab the lead from Heckman on the 18th lap moments after a restart following a yellow flag. Five divisions hit the high banked clay oval this Saturday night April 5th. The Mid Cal Fabracation IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Street Stocks, H&S Body Works Hobby stocks, Melo’s Gas & Gear American Stocks and the first appearance of the Okie Bowl Hard Tops. Gates open at 4:00pm  with Racing at 6:00pm.

Pounds goes Back to Back
