Former Bakersfield Speedway champion Nick Spainhoward opened the IMCA Sports Mod season at Bakersfield Speedway on Saturday night with a victory in the 30-lap feature. All events for Saturday & Sunday have been cancelled. Today’s latest rain showers plus the forecasted rain for tomorrow evening has forced us again to put off opening night for the third straight weekend.
Saturday march 10th events have been cancelled due to the rain forecast. Rain is scheduled to begin midday Saturday at the race track and in the surrounding area. We have monitored the weather forecast all week and we feel the correct thing to do is to save everyone the time and expense to travel here, unload and get prepared to race, to only have it start raining and cancel then. WEATHER WINS!!!! We are sad to report that all events scheduled for Saturday night March 3rd have been cancelled due to rain. We will be back racing next Saturday March 10th.
Our 2018 open practice night is set for this Saturday night February 24th. Pit gates open at 4:00pm with open practice running from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. Practice is open to all cars except Mini Dwarfs. Pit passes are $40.00 per person entering the pits. Grandstands are free to watch. Make plans to come test and get ready for the 2018 racing season.
