Lewis follows MLB career with surprise visit

BAKERSFIELD ADDED TO 2017 USAC NATIONAL MIDGET SCHEDULE

Bakersfield, California………A new addition to the 2017 USAC National Midget schedule’s end-of-the-year west coast swing has been announced as the penultimate round of this year’s championship. The November 18th USAC Western States Midget event at California’s Bakersfield Speedway will now carry USAC National Midget points in addition to Western States points. Fans were treated to a fireworks show as part of the 6th Annual Richie McGowan Memorial on Saturday night at Bakersfield Speedway. ADJUSTED START TIME ANNOUNCED FOR SATURDAY’S BIG EVENT!!!!!

With the current heat wave foretasted to break Friday night, we have decided to still push back Saturday’s start time by 1 hour to help combat the current conditions. We will jump directly into our summer operating hours starting this Saturday night with front gates opening at 5pm, racing starting at 7pm and the pit gate opening at 3pm. Baker picks up first Hobby Stock win

Tate Loftis crossed the finish line first, sideways and in the infield, but he was not the winner of a wild 25-lap Hobby Stock feature on Saturday night at Bakersfield Speedway.
