Dotson tops IMCA Modified field Saturday night

Steven Johnson raced to an IMCA Stock Car victory on Saturday night at Bakersfield Speedway. Johnson, last year’s champion, bounced back from last place finish in the first race of the season. Noland Jr. takes Hobby Stock race at Bakersfield Speedway

Raymond Noland Jr. took the lead on the 18th lap and raced to victory in the 25-lap Hobby Stock feature on Saturday night at Bakersfield Speedway. Hill gets first win of 2017 in Hobby Stock

There was no catching Mike Hill Jr. on Saturday night at Bakersfield Speedway. Hill took the lead early in the 25-lap Hobby Stock feature and pulled out to a huge lead before late-race cautions reeled him back. Those cautions only delayed Hill’s march to victory as he easily pulled away on the restarts, the last coming two laps from the finish. Jason Nation demonstrated the full range of his driving skills during the 25-lap IMCA Sport Mod feature Saturday night at Bakersfield Speedway But it was his tenacity and determination that played the biggest part in him winning the division’s season opener.
