Hogge grabs Moshier Classic win in Modifieds

Ronald McDonald House big winner at Speedway

The winner was the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House, as $24,356 was raised in the third annual Racing for Ronald event at the third-mile clay oval. Drake wins late model feature on his birthday

Steve Drake celebrated his 48th birthday in style Saturday night at Bakersfield Speedway. The San Luis Obispo driver out-dueled Rob Sanders of Bakersfield to win the 30-lap Late Model feature on the high-banked, third-mile clay oval. Drake chased Sanders from the runner-up position for more than half the race before sliding inside and past his younger counterpart on Lap 18. New pit gate hours start this weekend

To keep in line with the new summer hour implemented last weekend, Speedway management has adjusted the pit gate entry time as well. Starting this Saturday night August, the pit gate will now open at 3:00pm. Pill draw will close at 5:30pm, drivers meeting 5:35pm and hot lapping to following the drivers meeting. We will stay on this schedule until the remainder of the points season.
