IMCA SPORTMOD POINTS BATTLE HEATS UP THIS SATURDAYbakersfield
SPEEDWAY MEDIA- The racing in the month of June rolls along again Saturday night as the Motor City GMC IMCA SportMods are set to return to Bakersfield Speedway June 8th along with the H&S Body Works Hobby Stocks, Slingin Dirt Mod Lites and the Coca-Cola Mini Stocks.
Bakersfield’s Chris McKellar brings a two-point lead over Guy Ahlwardt in the SportMods season points series. Both drivers are expected to be on hand Saturday night along with Michael Johnson, Jason Nation and Gary Dutton who are all not far behind in the series points run.
The popular H&S Body Works Hobby Stocks are back again this Saturday with a batch of cars that always put on an exciting battle. Don Mead of Bakersfield stands on top of the division with a ten-point lead as a host of other drivers are ready to gain points this weekend. Be sure to join us and see if Raymond Noland Jr of Porterville can make up some of Meads lead.
JD Brown is coming off a Main Event win the last time the Slingin Dirt Mod Lites were at the Bakersfield Speedway and he will be back again this Saturday to try to back up that win. The Coca-Cola Mini Stocks are also on tap for the 1/3 mile high banked clay oval with current points leader David Wolford Jr leading the way.
Tickets for the Bakersfield Speedway are available at the front gates when they open to spectators at 5:00pm this Saturday night. General admission $12.00, Seniors/Military $10.00, Kids 6-12 $6.00, 5 and under are admitted free. The Bakersfield Speedway also offers the popular family pack of 2 adult tickets along with 2 kid’s tickets for just $30.00. Parking and camping is always free at the Bakersfield Speedway.
